VOR Motori is born to develop the idea of a prototype motorcycle for rough grounds built by the Vertemati brothers in 1997, preparers with many successful years in competitions. Experience adopted on the track fields, listening to pilots and technicians, giving its shape to a new and different motorcycle, with an original technological content.

It can be immediately understood that the idea is valuable: a pre-production prototype taken to race to end the testing up that allows Jaroslav Katrinak, strong Czech pilot, to classify third at the enduro world championship in 1988 over 500 four-stroke category. Thus it was worthwhile building a whole world around this idea. This is how the VOR Motori was born, with all the patent rights of the projects purchased from the Vertemati brothers: the new motorbike passes from the handicrafts phase to an industrial production process, with the contribution of the engineering section of the Bimota and the capitals of financing partners (3 millions €) In May 1998 is inaugurated the 1.000 m³ plant in Ronco Briantino, a few kilometers from Milan. And few months later, in the month of July, the production of Vertemati 492 model for enduro and 495 model for crossing is started, provided with the brand new 4-struck 503-cc propeller.

At the end of 1998 the production reaches the 80 pieces per month and the Supermotard 492 model enters the catalog, presented in September at the Exhibition of Monaco. The new versions are presently ready, provided with the characteristic 4-struck engine but with the new 400 cc capacity that, after the testing in competitions, will enlarge the range of mass-produced models sold in 2000 at the Exhibition of Milan.
